Rev Professor Frances Young’s distinguished academic career has run alongside her care for her son, Arthur.
The first of the paragraphs from her which are quoted in Caring Together is from her book Face to Face which appears to be out of print. The first part of the book tells the story of her relationship with Arthur and the second reflects theologically on it. The second and third paragraphs come from her book Brokenness and Blessing which, though primarily about ‘desert spirituality’, contains much personal reflection on the wilderness experience of caring for Arthur with his profound learning and physical disabilities.
